Shelter

Feeling uncomfortable but fascinated. Overwhelmed but mesmerised. Feeling distant but somehow close to home. Can a feeling be captured or touched? Suzie Bloom converts sensory perception into images and leaves the truth and reality for you to decide.

Suzie highlights themes close to her heart in which intimacy, silence, depression and surrender play a major role. The Loving Theme Divine Intervention outlines the lifelong search for her own body combined with her infinite fascination for the texture of skin and the ever-changing body. Through the different phases of life this merges into poetic photography.

The Loving Theme Sad is my Song arose from the moment when her son, at a young age, carried the increasingly heavy world with him. There were times when there appeared to be almost no way out. It has become Suzie’s mission to bring youth depression out into the open and make it less of a taboo subject.

…Because the truth is always subjective, the reality multi-interpretable. Capturing a mood, without judgment. Telling a story without words. She dares to put the dark side of life in the light and let it shine in all its power.
